REVIEWS
“I have been in the music industry (publishing, performing, promoting & managing artists)for many years...Cathryn is going places. She not only writes fine songs,but has a voice to deliver them in a style that isn’t just a clone of something(body) you heard before, but one that has a depth and an edge that is so often missing. There’s something a bit special there...I heard it the first time I saw her;

Maverick Magazine
Cloaked in the Joogleberry's distinctive cityscape, exiled west country troubadour Cathryn Stone enticed the audience with her harmonic musings on the nature of home andplace, marking a set of rounded acoustica with an itinerant touch. Stone's folkish rootswere unfettered through the understated percussive talents of drummer Dil, and the bow and slide fretwork of Tom on double bass. These two, combined with the frequently tangential nature of Stone's songwriting, lent the whole gig a jazzy undercurrent, something which came to the fore during the final track "Bounce". When they clicked, the trio's syncopation was impressive, though the most immediate song of the evening, the emotive "Still Moving" owed more to Cathryn's effortless vocal clarity and pursuit of melody. Numbers such as this made it quite apparent that Stone possesses a voice of such rare quality that she has a comfortable head start in the congested race for music industry recognition. One to watch.

“Cathryn’s confidence built a rapport with the audience straight away, her unique voice telling stories of restless travelling. The atmosphere was great, the venue packed to therafters, and far too small for the fab talent oozing out of these two acts..”
